Have you started seeing all of the back-to-school ads and fall-related stuff out there all of a sudden? August arrives and suddenly the world switches gears on us. Rather than soaking up the last rays of summer, it’s all about the upcoming change of seasons.

I’m jumping on that bandwagon! (I have to admit, fall is my favorite season!) Are you craving crisp air, vibrant colors, and views so spectacular they'll fill your Instagram feed for weeks?

Today I’m going to dive into four dreamy fall foliage tours that promise to leave you breathless (in a good way). Three are right here in the US, and the fourth is “across the pond,” as they say. All four are guided tours, so you can get SO much fall foliage bang for your buck! And although there are some amazing fall foliage cruise options, all of these are land-based packages.

Fall foliage option 1: “Classic Fall Foliage:” AKA, classic New England charm

  • When & Where: A leisurely 9-day round-trip journey from Boston (departures from Sept. 15 through Oct. 16, 2025).

  • Highlights: Start in Boston, journey along the stunning Maine coastline to Bar Harbor, and wind your way through New Hampshire before reaching Vermont's Green Mountains in Stowe.

  • Why You'll Love It: Imagine quaint towns, cozy sweaters, and breathtaking vistas—all without lifting a finger. This tour is the autumn equivalent of a warm hug from your favorite aunt: comforting, picturesque, and thoroughly delightful. Choose between standard-sized groups or more intimate ones (24 travelers max). Availability is still looking good for this year!

Fall foliage option 2: “Colorado: Aspen to Vail, Valleys of the Rockies:” Pedal through Colorado gold

  • When & Where: A 6-day cycling escapade through Colorado’s Rocky Mountain gems (departures between Aug. 30 and Sept. 27, 2025).

  • Highlights: Cycle from Aspen through charming Glenwood Springs, then onto Eagle and the vibrant mountain village of Vail.

  • Why You'll Love It: If the idea of pedaling through golden Aspen groves while your friends marvel at your adventurous spirit sounds like heaven, this is your trip. The only hard part? Trying not to stop every 10 minutes for photos.

Fall foliage option 3: “New England’s Fall Foliage:” The quintessential autumn leaves fest

  • When & Where: A classic 7-day exploration of New England’s brightest foliage (departures on Sept. 6 and Oct. 15, 2025).

  • Highlights: Travel through Boston, picturesque Woodstock in Vermont, the charming lakeside village of Meredith, and historic North Conway in New Hampshire.

  • Why You'll Love It: If autumn had a celebrity spokesperson, it’d live here. Expect postcard-perfect scenes, delightful historical stops, and colors vibrant enough to make even your travel-wary teenager say, "wow."

Fall foliage option 4: “Scenic Scotland:” Beautiful scenic splendor

  • When & Where: An 8-day Scottish spectacle through 6 stunning cities (only one departure left: Sept. 5, 2025).

  • Highlights: Begin your journey in historical Edinburgh, explore Stirling’s legendary sites, wander through the scenic Highlands, and conclude in Glasgow’s vibrant parks.

  • Why You'll Love It: Scotland isn’t just kilts and castles—though there will be plenty of those. It's rolling hills painted in fiery oranges and moody purples. Hurry, there's just one date left, and yes, the bagpipes are included (metaphorically speaking).
