Wellness travel is more than yoga mats and green smoothies (though those can be part of it!).


It’s about stepping out of your daily routines and creating space to recharge your body, mind, and spirit. Maybe that means watching the sunrise by the ocean (adding meditation is optional). Other times, it’s hiking mountain trails, cooking with local chefs, or simply unplugging in a peaceful spot with zero responsibilities.

Start with your “why”


I know you hear it a lot—What’s your why?—but when it comes to wellness travel, it really matters.


Ask yourself: what do I need most right now?


  • Renewal: More sleep, more spa, more deep breaths.

  • Connection: Quality time with yourself, a partner, or even new friends.

  • Growth: Learning something new—tai chi, forest bathing, or cooking classes.

  • Activity: Moving your body, stretching, conquering something new.


Once you know your “why,” the rest falls into place. Your trip isn’t just a getaway—it’s a way to become what you most need in your life right now.

Wellness can happen anywhere, but there are some places that are especially great. My client Diane didn’t have a particular location in mind, but she knew she wanted to be near water. She was originally thinking water=beach, but ended up loving the lake and woodsy feeling of her wellness getaway.
